It will never be known exactly how many people were murdered by serial killer Dennis Nilsen. Nilsen himself admitted to fifteen or sixteen. Only seven of his victims were ever identified by the police. The others being runaways and drifters who were easy pray for Nilsen. After an evening of drinking Nilsen would lure his victims back to his flat were he would strangle and drown them. He would then dismember their bodies and dispose of them down drains, on fires or bury them in the garden. He was finally arrested after neighbours complained that their drains were blocked. When they were checked, traces of human flesh were found. Nilson was found guilty at the Old Bailey on 4th November 1983 and sentenced to serve at least 25 years in prison.
